With the acquisition of MBH, GT Group is further strengthening its capabilities in the field of rail vehicle construction and expanding its expertise as a reliable partner for the railway industry.
MBH specialises in precision metalworking and has a reputation for quality and reliability in the manufacture of components for rail vehicles such as wheel bearing housings, axle bearing components and flange buffers.
On the Reed Smith side, the transaction was handled by the German private equity team led by Dr Nikolaus von Jacobs (partner, corporate, Munich) with significant involvement from Matthias Weingut (senior associate, corporate, Munich). Also involved were Nina Siewert (partner, tax, Frankfurt), Carina Klessing (associate, tax, Frankfurt) and Robert Werzlau (associate, corporate, Munich).
Nikolaus von Jacobs, who led the Reed Smith team, commented: “We are delighted to have successfully advised GT Group on the acquisition of MBH and would like to thank them for their trust and cooperation. The acquisition shows that the expansion of infrastructure, and above all the rail network in Germany, will be a high priority in the coming years.”
