PITTSBURGH – Global law firm Reed Smith today announced that James T. Metzger, an experienced senior financial and operations executive, has joined the firm as its new chief financial officer. Metzger will oversee finance and accounting operations across the firm’s 31 offices in the United States, Europe, the Middle East and Asia.

Metzger joins from LHH, a leading integrated talent solutions provider with 8,000 people in more than 60 countries, where he served as vice president, global chief financial officer and global head of business profitability. He has more than 30 years of experience across a diverse range of industries, including roles with professional services and consulting firms.

Metzger has held senior global and multinational roles in public companies and private equity-backed portfolio companies in industries as diverse as cybersecurity and enterprise risk consulting, IT software and services, and medical transportation. At Reed Smith, he will be based in Pittsburgh.

Metzger’s responsibilities at Reed Smith include leading a global team of over 150 business services professionals.

Metzger has an MBA in finance and international business through a joint-degree program from the New York University Stern School of Business, the London School of Economics and the HEC School of Management (Paris). He also has a Juris Masters focused on risk management, compliance and bankruptcy from Florida State University’s College of Law.
