Askhad is an experienced professional with years of experience in Central Asia and the US. He has significant experience in the corporate, investment, finance, commercial and subsoil sectors under both common and civil law legal systems. In recent years, Askhad has worked in leading legal roles in the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC), a pioneering international financial hub with a framework based on the laws of England and Wales.
Askhad has previously worked in international law firms and was the head of legal services in a ‘Big 4’ accountancy firm.
Askhad has frequently represented both governments and national oil and gas companies in connection with oil exploration and production contracts, oil field development agreements, concession agreements, production sharing agreements, service contracts and transportation contracts. Askhad has also represented parties in arbitrations arising in the oil and gas sector.
