The new England and Wales Solicitors Qualifying Examination: Opportunity for local qualification in the Middle East

We are delighted to invite you to a webinar to hear about the new route to the England and Wales solicitor qualification and the opportunities that it offers to those based in the Middle East.

Since September 2021, those wishing to qualify as a solicitor in England and Wales now need to pass the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) 1 and SQE 2 and gain the requisite (2 years) of qualifying work experience. There are some exemptions available for lawyers qualified in other jurisdictions. We will take you through the regulatory changes and explain how businesses in the Middle East might like to capitalise on them by sponsoring lawyers to become qualified/dual qualified.

This webinar will also introduce our brand new Reed Smith Academy, which will provide a curated teaching programme to support those wishing to study for the SQE exams.

Join us to find out more.

Speakers include:

  • Sachin Kerur, Head of Middle East Region
  • Waseem Khokhar, Legal Consultant
  • Katrina Watson, Learning & Development Senior Manager
