Reed Smith advises China City Gas, Vantage Energy and Fortune Clean Energy on formation of joint venture to acquire LNG carriers

HONG KONG – Global law firm Reed Smith today announced that it has advised China City Gas, Vantage Energy and Fortune Clean Energy, subsidiaries of China Gas, Wah Kwong Maritime Transport and CSSC (Hong Kong) Shipping, on the formation of a joint venture in connection with the construction of LNG carriers.

China Gas is a gas operator and service provider principally engaged in the investment, construction and operation of city and town gas pipeline infrastructure facilities, construction and operation of compressed natural gas/liquefied natural gas refilling stations; and development and application of technologies relating to natural gas and LPG in the PRC. It has been positioned as the largest vertically integrated LPG business operation service provider in China.

Wah Kwong has been involved in global shipping for seven decades and is one of Hong Kong’s leading privately owned shipowners. It owns and operates a diversified fleet of ships in addition to offering a full range of technical and commercial management services to its customers and partners.

CSSC is one of the world’s leading ship leasing companies. With a strong industrial background and strong maritime industry expertise, it focuses on developing the business of leasing and investment operation of vessels and marine equipment, offering customized and flexible integrated shipping services and financial services to global ship operators, shippers and traders.
