Jim’s practice focuses on complex commercial real estate transactions, including data center development, construction, and leasing, sale leasebacks, and renewable power development. He has extensive experience with sale-leaseback transactions, including both portfolio and single site transactions, throughout the United States, build to suit (and reverse build to suit) financing, and traditional construction financing. Jim has experience with real estate transactions involving Native American tribes, including leases and financing transactions. In addition, Jim has extensive experience on utility scale renewable energy projects, including energy storage, solar, wind, electrical transmission, and geothermal projects throughout California, including: (a) negotiating a variety of land rights, including options, leases, easements, licenses, and real estate purchase agreements, (b) guiding clients through city and county land use processes, including zone changes, general plan changes, variances, conditional use permits, and the development of specific plans, and (c) advising clients with respect to franchise agreements and license agreements with governmental and quasi-governmental agencies.
