As organizations race to deploy AI solutions, many overlook a fundamental question: do we know what data we have, where it resides, how long it is retained, and whether it is appropriate for AI use? Too often, the answer is no—and the risks are significant.
This program explores how retention schedules and records inventories—traditionally viewed as back-office compliance tools—are now essential to responsible and defensible AI deployment. Without clear visibility into data and strong lifecycle controls, organizations risk exposing AI systems to outdated, over-retained, sensitive, or privileged information, increasing regulatory scrutiny and litigation risk.
