Brennan brings extensive international corporate finance experience across both equity capital markets and private/public M&A, acting on a broad range of fundraising matters on both issuer and bank side, including IPOs, secondaries, buyouts, and takeover code matters.
With a particular focus on the technology sector, Brennan advises companies throughout their entire life cycle, from start-up/scale-up stage through to successful exit. His practice spans a wide range of industries, including technology, media, pharmaceuticals, biotech, and fintech, and he regularly acts for founders, management teams, banks, and investors on complex cross-border transactions.
Brennan’s appointment strengthens Reed Smith’s ECM and public listings capabilities in London while enhancing the firm’s broader capital markets and M&A offering across Europe. His extensive corporate finance and technology experience is also expected to foster close collaboration across the firm’s funds, tax, regulatory, competition, finance, and technology teams globally.
Mike Young, EME co-chair of Reed Smith’s Global Corporate Group, said: “Davey is a highly respected corporate lawyer with deep experience in technology and growth capital markets. His track record advising founders, investors, and listed companies on complex, cross-border transactions make him a valuable addition to our London team. He will play a key role in strengthening our ECM and M&A offering while supporting our broader strategy to build a leading global corporate practice.”
Brigid North, Reed Smith’s London office managing partner, commented: “With Davey joining the team, we are building on the momentum of our London growth in 2026, ready to help clients capitalise on emerging opportunities in ECM and the broader corporate market.”
Brennan added: “I am absolutely delighted to be joining Reed Smith. The firm’s enviable global reach, particularly across the U.S., Europe, and the Middle East, combined with its high performing, collaborative culture, creates a compelling platform for my clients as they scale and access international capital. I’m looking forward to working closely with colleagues across the firm’s impressive global platform to grow the corporate and technology offering in London and beyond.”
Brennan joins Reed Smith from Gowling WLG, where he was a partner in the London corporate team and co-chair of the firm’s global technology group.
