Reed Smith enhances labor and employment practice in Chicago

CHICAGO — Global law firm Reed Smith announced the expansion of its labor and employment capabilities with the addition of Tiffany S. Fordyce as a partner in the firm’s Labor & Employment Group in Chicago.

“Tiffany is a significant addition to our global labor and employment practice, and her arrival in Chicago strengthens our ability to serve this key market where we are seeing significant client demand,” said Robin B. Jeffcott, global chair of Reed Smith’s Labor & Employment Group.

Fordyce, who chaired the Chicago labor and employment practice group at her previous firm, as well as co-chairing that group’s complex litigation practice, defends employers in all types of employment claims, including class and collective actions, trade secret and restrictive covenant matters, BIPA litigation, and discrimination and retaliation claims. She has also defended wage and hour, whistleblower, and WARN Act matters, and advises on employment policies and workplace investigations.

“Tiffany is an ideal fit for the Chicago office, and we are thrilled she will be joining Reed Smith. She is an outstanding lawyer and brings the experience and capabilities our clients have been asking for, along with a strong background in sensitive investigations, complex litigation, and employment counseling,” said Jennifer Yule DePriest, Reed Smith’s Chicago office managing partner.

Reed Smith’s Labor & Employment Group serves as counsel for leading employers worldwide. The team advises on the full spectrum of workforce issues, from litigation defense to compliance counseling and sensitive investigations. With Tiffany’s labor and employment practice, the Chicago office — the firm’s third largest office — will expand its already broad range of litigation and transactional services.

“I am excited to help grow the capabilities of Reed Smith’s Chicago office. The firm’s integrated, innovative, and collaborative approach creates immediate opportunities to deliver greater value and support for our clients as we guide them through their most complex challenges,” Fordyce said.

Fordyce joins Reed Smith from Greenberg Traurig. She earned her J.D. from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law and her B.A. from Pomona College.
