Julie A. Hardin

Julie’s energy practice includes serving as lead counsel to exploration and production companies, oilfield service providers, pipeline companies, oilfield product manufacturers and renewable energy companies involved in complex business litigation – on both sides of the commercial docket. Julie has extensive experience advising clients and leading cases involving warranty and contract claims; well failures; commodity trading, transportation, and storage; indemnity and insurance recovery claims; real estate and construction; property damage and nuisance allegations; and other business torts. Julie also regularly serves as monitoring or lead counsel in high-stakes catastrophic injury cases arising out of oilfield operations.

Julie’s life science practice includes serving as lead counsel to medical device and pharmaceutical companies in both complex commercial disputes and product liability litigation. Julie has particular experience asserting and defending against warranty claims; disputes with suppliers, distributors and other commercial partners; and litigation involving licensing, co-promotion and technology. Julie also has extensive experience defending high-profile product liability suits and has served in numerous national and regional counsel roles in mass tort litigation. Julie is adept at crafting trial themes and strategy, and mastering the technical and scientific issues often at the forefront of life science disputes.

With 25 years of trial and arbitration experience, Julie also represents clients across the transportation, aviation, manufacturing, power, and technology sectors. Given her nationwide practice, Julie is regularly called on to serve as lead counsel in cases filed throughout Texas, California, Florida, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and across the Northeast and Midwest.

Julie earns the trust of her clients and their senior management by being a skilled strategist who brings a commercial approach to problem solving. Julie’s commitment to early risk analysis leads to cost-effective dispute resolution - inside or outside the courtroom.

Beyond the courtroom, Julie often assists clients in evaluating the litigation risks associated with proposed acquisitions or product offerings. She relies on her vast experience litigating complex product liability matters to assess and value potential litigation and regulatory exposure.

In addition to her legal practice, Julie is committed to empowering women in the Houston community. She formerly served on the board of directors for Girls Inc. of Greater Houston and the Women's Resource of Greater Houston, and she currently sits on the Advisory Council for Dress for Success Houston. Julie is a graduate of Leadership Houston and is included in the Circle of Leaders for the Center for Women in Law. She is a proud Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation.

Julie devotes her free time to her family, including her husband, 18-year-old son, 16-year-old daughter, two dogs, and three horses.
