Omar advises private fund sponsors, investment managers, and investment advisers on fund formation and sponsor-side transactions, drawing on deep in-house and private-practice experience in the private funds and private credit space. He focuses on the formation and structuring of a wide range of investment vehicles, including private equity, private credit, hedge, venture, real estate, and permanent-capital vehicles, as well as fund-of-funds and customized fund structures.

Representative matters

Represented multiple private credit fund managers in connection with the formation and launch of both closed end direct lending funds, co-investment vehicles, and evergreen private credit fund structures for US and non-US investors (namely, levered-blocker feeder, rated feeders and "season and sell" structures).
Represented numerous venture capital firms in connection with the recent successful launch of early and growth-stage funds ranging from $100 million to $3 billion focused on fintech, life sciences and biotechnology sectors.
Represented a private equity investment adviser as transactional counsel on its sale of a 20% interest in the firm to certain strategic investors.
