James is a member of the firm’s Global Corporate Group. He focuses his practice on mergers and acquisitions, private equity, venture capital transactions, debt and equity financings, joint ventures, governance issues, and other general corporate matters for private equity funds, their portfolio companies, other privately and publicly-held businesses, and their founders and managements teams.
Prior to joining Reed Smith, James was an associate in the transactional tax planning group of a large international law firm. James also spent time in the mergers and acquisitions tax group of a large international accounting firm.
In addition to his corporate practice, James also devotes significant time to pro bono matters including volunteering at Ascend Justice representing pro bono clients in domestic violence cases to obtain Orders of Protection.
