Feuillat, who joins Reed Smith on 1 June from Willkie Farr & Gallagher, brings more than 25 years’ experience advising private equity and corporate clients in the energy, infrastructure, industrials and technology sectors. He has handled complex cross-border transactions including mergers and acquisitions, takeovers, joint ventures, private equity deals and corporate finance transactions, involving over 70 countries and worth more than US$100 billion.
Feuillat is the latest addition to Reed Smith’s growing private equity practice following the recent arrival of Dr. Nikolaus von Jacobs and Christian von Sydow who joined the firm’s Munich office from McDermott Will & Emery in May.
Delphine Currie, Reed Smith partner and co-chair of the firm’s EME corporate practice, said: “We are excited to welcome Francois to the firm. Expansion of Reed Smith’s private equity capabilities, in addition to its industry group focus, remains a key commitment for the business – Francois ticks all of these boxes and much more. He is a well-respected and successful lawyer who will be a great fit for the team and highly valued by our clients.”
Andrew Jenkinson, managing partner of the firm’s London office, said: “We are delighted to welcome Francois to the firm as we continue to strategically build our corporate and private equity capabilities in Europe. Francois has a significant amount of experience in the energy and infrastructure sector, which aligns with our industry focus in this space.”
Prior to Willkie, Feuillat was a partner at Vinson & Elkins from 2006 until 2015; he practiced as an associate at Hogan Lovells, having also trained there, from 1995 until 2006.
“Reed Smith is an impressive firm. Its global presence, sector focus and collaborative culture will provide the ideal platform to grow my practice and support clients. I am excited to join the firm and to begin working alongside my new energy and corporate colleagues across Europe, the U.S., the Middle East and Asia,” commented Feuillat.
Reed Smith’s Global Corporate Group covers all aspects of corporate and commercial law and spans the firm’s 31 offices. The EME corporate practice has undergone significant growth over the past few years, with the group also welcoming corporate partners Brendan Gallen, Milan Thakker, Sam Webster and Shervin Shameli in London, Adela Mues in Dubai, and Dimitris Assimakis in Athens.
