Global law firm Reed Smith today announces the hire of Nina Howell as partner in its Energy & Natural Resources Group and London office.

Howell joins the firm with over 20 years’ experience advising clients across the energy industry. She has a particular focus on the LNG sector, representing clients across the LNG supply chain globally, from the financing and development of LNG import and export projects to LNG sales, marketing, trading and transportation. Howell also brings with her two decades of experience of upstream joint ventures, unitization, M&A and other energy related corporate transactions, across several continents.

She joins the firm from King & Spalding where she was partner prior to joining Reed Smith. Howell has also previously worked at a magic circle law firm in London, which involved secondments to BP and Shell (formerly BG International).

Howell is recognized in Chambers UK, and Legal 500 UK where she is cited as a “Next Generation Partner”.

Kyri Evagora, co-chair of Reed Smith’s Energy & Natural Resources Group, said: “We are delighted to have a lawyer of Nina’s calibre joining our firm. She has an impressive track record in our industry, and she is a standout name for clients in the US, Europe, Asia and beyond. The LNG sector continues to grow and present significant opportunities for our clients to produce and transport LNG around the globe. We are pleased to be expanding our practice in response to increased demand from clients.”

Andrew Jenkinson, Reed Smith’s London office managing partner, said: “Nina’s arrival further enhances our leading energy practice. We are very pleased to welcome her to the firm.”

Howell said: “Reed Smith’s enviable global platform, collaborative approach to problem solving and client service delivery were all key factors that attracted me to the firm. Its global energy and natural resources practice has a tremendous reputation. I am really looking forward to working closely with my new colleagues to help further expand the practice at Reed Smith.”
