Emad has more than 15 years of experience advising both government and private sector clients on privatised and publicly procured infrastructure, development projects, and concessions across Saudi Arabia. Over the past decade, he has provided guidance on many of the country’s most significant projects, including airports, road and rail networks, power plants, commercial and residential developments, oil and gas facilities, water supply plants, hotels, and education facilities.
Emad has advised on several first-of-their-kind transactions in Saudi Arabia, including the SAR 62 billion Makkah Metro Project and the project financing of a US$650 million aromatics facility (benzene and cyclohexane) constructed at Jubail. The project used a Shari’ah-compatible security structure, which he assisted in developing.
His capabilities advising on disputes, Shari’ah-compliant financing, and regulatory matters are highly commended by his long-standing clients, many of whom have stayed with him since the start of his career.
Emad served as co-office managing partner of a highly reputable local law firm in Saudi Arabia prior to joining Reed Smith.
