Ray-Shio is an associate based in Reed Smith’s London office. He joined Reed Smith as a trainee in 2015. He works with energy and commodity companies, banks, hedge funds and exchanges on a variety of transactional, cross-border regulatory, compliance and risk management matters within the energy sector.
Notable transactional work includes assisting clients in their acquisition of energy portfolios and commodity businesses, negotiating standard form and bespoke trading documentation (such as EFETs, ISDAs, and LNG MSPAs) as well as structured financing matters.
In terms of regulatory work, his experience includes providing advice to clients on the impact of UK and EU legislation relating to trade sanctions as well as the energy and financial services sector such as REMIT, MAR and MiFID II. He has substantial experience in assisting clients with their compliance policy documents and managing complicated and extensive global jurisdictional reviews.
Ray-Shio has previously undertaken a secondment to a global trading firm specialising in power and gas trading.
