Sarah is a practical, business-minded litigator who helps companies resolve complex disputes efficiently and on favorable terms. She represents clients in commercial litigation across the country, including business and corporate disputes, managed care payment disputes, toxic tort cases, product liability cases, and pharmaceutical and medical device litigation, including defense of a major wholesale pharmaceutical distributor against claims that prescription opioids caused a public nuisance. Her experience includes defense of pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers in federal multi-district litigations (MDLs) and state coordinated actions, in addition to single plaintiff cases across the country. Her approach centers on early case assessment, risk analysis, and strategies that align with each client’s priorities.
Drawing on deep experience across all phases of litigation, Sarah handles pleadings, fact and expert discovery, depositions, dispositive and expert motions, and pre-trial practice and preparation. She partners closely with in-house teams to streamline work, control costs, and position matters for the best available outcome – whether through targeted motion practice, negotiated resolution, or trial readiness.
Sarah also maintains an active appellate and amicus practice, and she takes this opportunity to advocate on behalf of others and amplify the voices of affected communities. She has authored amicus briefs in state and federal courts – including the United States Supreme Court – on issues involving product liability, reproductive rights, and RICO.
Additionally, driven by a commitment to access to justice, Sarah applies her skills to pro bono immigration advocacy. She has represented minors through the Special Immigrant Juvenile Status process and guardianship matters, and assists clients in obtaining nonimmigrant U visas and employment authorization. Sarah has also been involved in appellate representation of asylum seekers in the Ninth Circuit.
