This competencies-based approach to career development was designed to ensure that all staff at Reed Smith have the best possible opportunity to succeed in their roles and to grow professionally. Our program is designed around three universal competency areas of Citizenship, Business Skills and Client Service, and a fourth competency of Functional Knowledge and Skills that is specific to individual departments.

With an overarching goal of working together to build a world-class team, Staff CareeRS provides a variety of tools and information so that members of our staff clearly know what is required of them in their roles. We offer a wide variety of educational opportunities, including on-demand and e-learning programs, as well as an extensive Reed Smith University catalogue of instructor-led courses. Mentoring services are also available and can provide an opportunity to spend time in conversation with a more experienced staff member.
