Sub-Recalls through Distributors and Hospitals * International Procedures * Regulatory Compliance
Planning for, and navigating through, a product recall is an enormous concern for drug, device and biotech companies. Daily reports of potential recalls or market withdrawals for common prescription and OTC drugs flood the public domain, proving that even industry giants are subject to a recall. A product recall is potentially detrimental to a company’s image. Ensuring that everyone, from management to marketing to customer service to quality and regulatory, is aware of the recall strategy is vital to a company’s preparedness. This conference provides the only platform for the industry to discuss critical topics including:
- Conducting Mock Recalls
- Lessons Learned from Class I Recalls
- Understanding how Hospitals Receive and Communicate a Recall Internally
- Developing Global Procedures for Recalls
Prepare for a Class I Recall – Apply Case Study Lessons to Build Your Own Strategy
Pre-Conference Workshop presented by Areta Kupchyk and Jim Wood
A class I recall represents a company in crisis. Threats of loss of market share, product liability, regulatory investigations and securities litigation are often the consequences. Having an effective plan in place for a class I recall can make the difference. This workshop reviews previous, well known class I recalls and evaluates their effectiveness from start to finish. Participants learn to evaluate the who, what, where, when and why of recalls and how a properly handled recall not only effectively protects the consumer, but also allows for the public image of a company to improve. After evaluating these previous recalls, participants learn to translate their successes and failures and incorporate these strategies into their own class I recall strategy.
