On June 16-17, international arbitration lawyers Clément Fouchard and Guillaume Aréou will take part in the 9th East Africa International Arbitration Conference (EAIAC), held in Kigali, Rwanda. This year’s conference theme is: “Resettling for a New Age of International Arbitration in Africa: Climate Change, Global Partnerships & Sustainable Development.”

Guillaume will present on June 16 as part of a session on “Trends and Hot Topics in Government-related Arbitration (Infrastructure Disputes).” Clément will moderate a session on June 17 exploring “Intra-Africa Investment Treaties and Arbitration.”
Founded in 2013, the EAIAC follows five guiding principles: to promote arbitration excellence through trainings, workshops, and conferences; to collaborate with institutions to prepare the next generation of arbitration practitioners; to create a network of arbitration users and practitioners; and to profile Africa’s arbitration professionals and Africa’s international dispute resolution centers.
