(June 30, 2010, Philadelphia) – Reed Smith LLP has announced that Paul J. Jaskot, a partner in its Philadelphia office, will be co-practice group leader of the firm’s U.S. Corporate & Securities Group, effective immediately.
“This is a well-deserved honor for Paul, who has worked tirelessly and made a significant contribution in his role as deputy practice group leader,” said John M. Iino, Global Chair of Reed Smith's Business & Finance Department and member of the firm's Senior Management Team.
Mr. Jaskot has served as deputy practice group leader of C&S since 2007. He will share leadership of the group with Stewart Dolin, who is based in the firm’s Chicago office.
“Over the past few years, our C&S Group has grown significantly with diverse practice areas and strong prospects for continued growth,” said Mr. Dolin, co-practice group leader of the C&S Group. “I look forward to continuing the successful collaboration with Paul in leading the Group as it moves ahead.”
Mr. Jaskot’s personal practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, securities, corporate governance, general corporate and financing matters. He is currently Chair of NPower Pennsylvania, a nonprofit corporation that assists other nonprofits in effectively using technology to accomplish their missions. A 1995 magna cum laude graduate of Temple University School of Law, Mr. Jaskot returned to Reed Smith in 2001 after several years serving as in-house counsel to two different companies. Mr. Jaskot had started his career at Reed Smith as a summer associate in 1994 and was an associate from 1996 to 1998.
“Reed Smith continues to be a place that is entrepreneurial and allows younger professionals to take active leadership roles in both the practice and business sides of the law,” Mr. Jaskot said. “Our corporate group has performed exceedingly well considering the tough market, and as a result continues to attract many new lawyers. I look forward to partnering with Stu to continue that momentum in building our corporate practice.”
Reed Smith's Corporate & Securities practice comprises 350 lawyers and spans the firm’s 22 offices worldwide.
