June 18, 2015 – Reed Smith LLP today announced two new members of its global administrative management.

Lucy Dillion, former Director of Knowledge Management at Berwin Leighton Paisner – a global law firm headquartered in the UK – was named Reed Smith’s new Chief Knowledge Officer (CKO) and will be based in the firm’s London office. Steven W. Agnoli, former Head of Global IT Transformation at leading generic and specialty pharmaceuticals company Mylan, was named the firm’s new Chief Information Officer (CIO) and will work from the firm’s Pittsburgh office.

“The Senior Management Team is extremely pleased to add highly qualified professionals of Lucy’s and Steven’s caliber to Reed Smith,” said Gary Sokulski, Reed Smith’s Chief Operating Officer. “Both have exceptional qualifications and significant experience well-aligned with our strategic business plans. The roles of CKO and CIO are increasingly important to a global law firm’s success. We are confident Lucy and Steven have what it takes to enhance and sustain the innovative, market-leading knowledge management and information technology functions for which Reed Smith has been widely recognized.”

Dillon is a senior organizational executive with significant experience improving knowledge management in leading international law firms. Before joining Reed Smith, she was Director of Knowledge Management at Berwin Leighton Paisner for 13 years, where she was responsible for developing knowledge management in that firm’s multi-cultural environment across Europe, the Middle East and Asia.

Dillon began her legal career as a litigation lawyer in Linklaters' London office before moving into knowledge management. She was a professional support lawyer in Linklaters' London office from 1993 to 2002, serving as head of its Litigation Information Unit and, from 1998 to 2002, as firmwide PSL coordinator.

She earned an MBA from Nottingham Law School in law firm management in 2002, and a joint French and English law degree from King's College London at the University of London and the Sorbonne in Paris in 1984. She is a regular presenter at conferences in Europe and the United States, and currently serves as chair of the Society for Computers & Law's Knowledge Management Group, as well as a committee member for the MPF Knowledge & Learning Leaders' group.

Agnoli is a senior information technology executive with experience successfully leading transformational IT initiatives in large law firms and corporate entities, including developing IT strategy, ensuring value realization, and motivating innovative, multi-disciplinary teams in global growth environments.

Prior to joining Mylan – an $8 billion pharmaceutical manufacturer – Agnoli was the IT transformation leader and a business strategist at Point Management Group. Before that he was president of HGO Technology, Inc.; a principal at Williams Consulting; and the chief information officer at K&L Gates, from 1998 through 2011.

Agnoli earned his MBA at Duquesne University in 1991, and his B.S. in Management Information Systems from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1986. In 2011, 2007, 2004, 2003 and 2002, companies he served as CIO were recognized as top 100 companies internationally by CIO Magazine for utilizing IT for positive business transformation. In 2007, this publication awarded Agnoli the prestigious “CIO100 Plus One” recognition for his leadership promoting business transformation enabled by IT.
