NEW YORK, November 1, 2016 – Reed Smith LLP represented Harris Corporation, a technology innovator, in signing a definitive agreement for the sale of its end-to-end managed satellite and terrestrial communications commercial business, Harris CapRock, to SpeedCast International Limited for $425 million. The deal is subject to regulatory review and is expected to close in the first quarter of 2017.
Co-led by Chicago partner Matt Petersen, Pittsburgh partner Courtney Murray, and London partner Peter Teare, with significant work done by New York partner James Tandler, Chicago associate Morley Fortier, Pittsburgh associate Patrick O’Malley, and Houston associate Priscilla Arthus, the Reed Smith team drew upon its global bench of attorneys with experience in complex cross-border corporate transactions. Reed Smith lawyers across four continents were involved in advising Harris about the sale of CapRock, which has been underway since early this calendar year.
