LONDON – Reed Smith today announced that Kathleen Garrett has joined the firm as a partner in its Financial Industry Group in London, bringing aboard one of the foremost finance and restructuring lawyers in the region. Garrett joins Reed Smith from Arthur Cox, a premier Irish law firm.

Over her thirty-plus year career, Garrett has built a highly successful practice focusing on cross border finance and corporate transactions, formal and informal insolvency procedures, restructuring and workouts. She is considered a go-to adviser for credit and financial institutions, private equity funds, corporates, partnerships and individuals, with clients in industries such as property, operating businesses, structured finance, portfolio sales, fund and tech lending, aviation, film, data centres, co-ops, derivative and insurance products.

During her tenure at Arthur Cox, Garrett held several leadership positions, serving as head of the firm’s London office and as a member of the Management Committee of the firm.
