The DTI has launched a further consultation exercise on Additional Paternity Leave and Additional Statutory Paternity Pay. This element of the Work and Families Act 2006 seeks to enable employed fathers
(including civil partners or adoptive parents) to take up to 26 weeks APL, some of which can be paid leave if the mother of the child has returned to work.
