John provides support to Reed Smith's Life Sciences & Health Industry Group. John began his law practice as an associate in the areas of employee benefits/ERISA and bankruptcy law, and for the past several years has concentrated on e-discovery. Over the past decade, John has performed e-discovery work on matters involving pharmaceuticals and toxic torts. More recently, John has been assisting the defense team of a large medical device lawsuit.
John has also had extensive experience in two large multi-district litigations involving thousands of cases over the last nine years. In the Welding Fume Litigation MDL (which involved over 12,000 cases), John was a key member of the witness preparation and document review team. In the Pelvic Repair Systems Products Liability Litigation (involving over 11,500 cases) he is currently one of the lead managers of the document review effort for a client that has produced over 8.5 million pages to date.
