Katherine is a senior paralegal in the Shipping Finance Group. She assists attorneys who represent major lenders, ship owners, operating companies and equity investors in international finance and corporate transactions with an emphasis on shipping.
She is experienced in drafting and assisting attorneys with the drafting of ship finance documentation including loan agreements, vessel mortgages, charter assignments, earnings assignments, insurance assignments, etc. She also assists with closing meetings for international ship finance and other transactions, including attending to the registration of vessel mortgages at the relevant vessel registry in New York, including, but not limited to Bermuda, Liberia, Marshall Islands and Vanuatu, and has coordinated the registration of United States vessel mortgages with the United States Coast Guard in Falling Waters, West Virginia.
Katherine is also experienced in drafting and filing certificates of incorporation, formation, and dissolution for entities in various jurisdictions. In addition, she has prepared initial organizational resolutions and registered or qualified entities in various jurisdictions, as well as obtaining good standing certificates, apostilles and various certified documents from domestic and foreign jurisdiction. She has also prepared and performed various Uniform Commercial Code filings and lien searches.
