Nancy is a health policy analyst for the Life Sciences Health Industry Group, focusing on health care regulatory law. She works primarily on matters involving licensing and enrollment of health care facilities, Medicare reimbursement, and other state and federal regulatory issues.
Nancy has a significant background and experience working on acquisitions and corporate reorganizations involving a number of Fortune 500 companies – preparing state licensing and federal Medicare and Medicaid enrollment materials for pharmacies, durable medical equipment suppliers, skilled nursing facilities, and other health care businesses.
Nancy is particularly familiar with compliance matters, having frequently been involved in analyzing the reporting requirements of prior sanctions and disciplinary actions. She also has extensive experience with federal legislative matters, including drafting issue statements and proposals for legislative action, and researching, monitoring, and analyzing legislation in the space, defense, energy, environment and appropriations areas.
Specifically in connection to Medicare, Nancy provides reimbursement analysis for clients involving the hospital inpatient prospective payment system (IPPS), the hospital outpatient prospective payment system (OPPS), and the Medicare physician fee schedule (MPFS), including calculations of payments under proposed and final rulemakings. In addition, she performs regulatory compliance work for manufacturers and suppliers of Medicare durable medical equipment, prosthetics, orthotics, and supplies (DMEPOS), including providing analysis for bidders under the DMEPOS competitive bidding program.
