Marguerite is an experienced litigator who represents corporate employers as a staff attorney in the firm’s labor and employment practice group. She brings a wealth of experience to bear in her practice, which includes counseling companies regarding compliance with both state and federal laws and regulations; representing and advising clients during Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Department of Labor and other federal and state agency investigations; defending in both state and federal court against actions involving employment discrimination, wrongful termination, harassment, retaliation, and wage and hour claims; and prosecuting non-competition claims.
Prior to joining Reed Smith, Marguerite practiced as an associate attorney in a small Greensburg, Pennsylvania firm, where she represented clients in both plaintiff and defense employment cases. This experience provides her with unique insight and enhances her strategic abilities in her current practice as a management-side employment attorney. She is particularly knowledgeable regarding issues involving Americans with Disabilities Act, Age Discrimination in Employment Act, Title VII, the Family and Medical Leave Act, and restrictive covenants.
Before entering into private practice, Marguerite served as Judicial Clerk in the Mercer County Court of Common Pleas, where she gained high-level experience researching complex legal issues, advising the judiciary with regard to novel matters, and drafting bench memoranda and opinions.
