Jeff brings over 20 years of e-discovery experience to Reed Smith's Records & E-Discovery Group, where he is a senior member of the team. He has supervised projects covering a broad range of subjects, including financial services, insurance, tax, products liability, as well as regulatory and white-collar crime investigations. He has helped usher cases through various phases of discovery, including on-site collection of data and custodian interviews; development and sampling of search terms; use of early case assessment tools and technology assisted review software to cull data sets; preparation of privilege logs; and the development of witness kits in advance of deposition and trial.
Since joining Reed Smith in 2011 at the group’s inception, Jeff has also led a number of due diligence and contract review teams, assisting several large financial institutions with their contract analysis projects. Jeff's recent work involves managing a team of over 40 attorneys in a large-scale review project on behalf of a client involved in complex multi-district litigation.
Throughout his tenure as an e-discovery attorney, Jeff has been a leader in successfully organizing and managing teams of attorneys to meet the needs of clients and deliver a cost effective, efficient, and quality work product. He also develops some of the group’s training and educational programs.
Prior to joining Reed Smith, Jeff was a law clerk for a Senior Judge on Pennsylvania Superior Court. His previous work at other large Pittsburgh law firms involved large-scale discovery matters in the areas of pharmaceutical products liability, breach of contract, tortious interference, and Lanham Act and civil RICO claims.
