Elle is a partner based in London and widely recognised as a leading practitioner in digital and data law. She is co-chair of the firm’s global Entertainment & Media Industry Group.
An advisor on digital regulatory issues for 25 years, Elle supports clients on the complex intersection of emerging digital regulation, including compliance matters spanning privacy, online safety, security, kids’ protection, platform liability, consumer compliance, and AI. On the data protection side, this includes designing and implementing GDPR compliance programmes, managing security breach response, and providing data protection officer services. She also regularly deals with regulatory requests and investigations, particularly in the content industries, including the videogames, social media, streaming, broadcast, and publishing sectors, where she has deep industry knowledge.
Renowned for her pragmatic and practical advice, Elle is sought out for her ability to issue spot across digital laws, provide solutions, and problem solve quickly and efficiently. With a degree in political sciences, Elle is often seen speaking on policy developments in the technology and media space.
Elle is a global advisor acting for multinational companies, notably with European regulatory needs in the digital domain. She also has particular experience of Asia Pacific, having spent three years based in Singapore setting up the Technology and Media team for her previous firm. While there, she also assisted companies with data compliance issues across South East Asia when such laws first came into effect, and Chambers and Partners Asia Pacific described her as an “outstanding lawyer”
Elle is author of the third edition of Gringras: The Laws of the Internet, a key legal textbook covering laws relevant to e-commerce, including copyright, online contracting, data protection, and content-related issues.
