Dan is a litigation associate in the Pittsburgh office and a member of the firm’s Financial Industry Group. Dan handles complex commercial litigation in state and federal courts. Dan’s practice includes the defense of class actions, shareholder disputes, breach of contract actions, business torts, disputes involving real estate development, intellectual property litigation, and a range of other commercial disputes. Dan has experience seeking and defending against requests for time-sensitive relief, including preliminary injunctions and temporary restraining orders.
In addition to his commercial litigation practice, Dan maintains an active pro bono practice. Dan has represented a veteran who was unlawfully separated from the United States Marine Corps in the United States Court of Federal Claims. Dan also represented an individual in resentencing proceedings who, as a juvenile, was convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to life-without-parole. He is a volunteer director of Laurel Legal Services, Inc. – a legal-aid organization serving a six-county area in Western Pennsylvania.
Prior to joining Reed Smith, Dan was a litigation associate at a regional law firm and a term law clerk for Judge Kim R. Gibson, United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania.
