Understanding how investment funds work is key to unlocking new capital, partnerships, and growth opportunities in the maritime sector. This session delivers the core concepts and practical insights that shipping professionals need to navigate fund structures and speak the language of investors.

5.20 pm - 6.00 pm - Bunkering best practices; Peter Glover, Daniel Rainer

Bunkering operations and the potential for a bunker spill remains an omnipresent risk to ship owners, with many jurisdictions imposing strict liability on owners for oil pollution. Given Singapore’s position as one of the busiest and most important bunkering ports in the world, this presentation will cover some bunkering best practices and points to be conscious of should an oil spill occur during bunkering in Singapore.

China and Singapore are both major shipping centers and jurisdictions which are frequently considered for ship arrests for jurisdictional and security purposes. In this segment, we navigate the practical aspects and key considerations of arresting ships in Singapore and in China.
