The day-long program aims to enhance professionals' understanding of the nuances of what is required of audit committees and special committees, and those who advise them. In addition to co-chairing the program, Rizzy will speak on two panels. The first panel will examine best practices for board members, audit committees, and special committees in evaluating and responding to issues that may trigger the need for an internal investigation, including when to retain independent outside counsel and other professionals. The second panel will address best practices for liaising with regulators and outside auditors during an investigation, drawing on a real-world case study to discuss key findings, remedial measures, and the proper format for presenting results.
Rizzy also took part in selecting the program's speakers, who represent a cross-section of leading practitioners, including general counsel, auditors, regulators, and outside counsel. This diverse group of perspectives ensures that attendees will gain a comprehensive understanding of the internal investigation process from every angle.
