Allie is a state tax lawyer in our Denver office who focuses on Colorado state and local tax matters but brings a wealth of experience from her work across many states, particularly Louisiana, New York, and Texas. She guides clients through the full spectrum of state tax issues, from initial audit notices and administrative reviews to proactive tax planning and developing long-term best practices. While she is skilled in many types of state tax, she has a special passion for indirect/transaction tax issues and regulatory fees.
Her career journey includes valuable roles as in-house tax counsel for a Fortune 500 company and a tax consultant at a Big 4 Accounting Firm. These experiences give Allie a unique, integrated perspective, allowing her to handle complex tax matters with a keen understanding of a business’s operational needs. She excels at thinking laterally, helping clients resolve current tax controversies while also developing strategic, long-term solutions to reduce future state and local tax risks.
Allie’s track record includes successfully representing clients on a variety of complex tax issues, such as nexus, apportionment, unitary filing, and the taxability of transactions. She also has deep experience in creating valuable processes and planning tools, including multistate income tax withholding manuals and economic incentive applications. She is also adept at developing and negotiating multistate voluntary disclosures and penalty abatements.
