Reed Smith advises Cohen & Company Capital Markets on pricing of $200 million SPAC IPO

Global law firm Reed Smith is serving as legal counsel to Cohen & Company Capital Markets, a division of Cohen & Company Securities, LLC., as sole book-running manager in connection with the pricing of the $200 million initial public offering of Southport Acquisition Corp. II, a blank check company.

The offering of 20 million units was priced on September 30, 2026, at $10.00 per unit, and its closing is anticipated to take place on or about October 2, 2026. The company's units are expected to be listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol "PORT.U" and will begin trading on October 1, 2026. Once the securities comprising the units begin separate trading, the Class A ordinary shares and warrants are expected to be listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbols "PORT" and "PORT.W," respectively.

Southport Acquisition Corp. II was formed for the purpose of effecting a merger, amalgamation, share exchange, asset acquisition, share purchase, reorganization, or similar business combination with one or more businesses and may pursue an initial business combination target in any business, industry, sector, or geographical location.

The Reed Smith deal team was led by Anne Peetz and included Ari Byk, Alexandra Kustra, and Hana Omar.
