MIAMI – Global law firm Reed Smith today announced that Brandon Elliott has joined the firm as a partner in the Global Corporate Group in Miami. Elliott advises institutional and private credit lenders as well as investment fund borrowers in preferred equity investments and fund financing transactions.

“Fund finance and private credit are among the fastest-growing areas of demand from our sponsor clients, and Brandon’s ability to represent both sponsor and private capital investors adds significant depth to our platform,” said David Hayes, vice-chair of Reed Smith’s U.S. Corporate Group and global vice-chair of the firm’s private equity practice.

Elliott’s practice focuses on NAV and asset-based lending facilities, back-leverage facilities, margin loans, rated notes issuances, subscription line facilities, management company facilities, GP stakes transactions, professional partner loan programs, liability management, acquisition financings, and debtor-in-possession and exit financings.

“As Miami continues to establish itself as a hub for alternative asset managers and financial sponsors, Brandon’s experience is exactly what our clients here need,” said Francisco A. Rodriguez, managing partner of Reed Smith’s Miami office.

Elliott’s representative matters include advising a private equity sponsor on a $3.5 billion multi-jurisdictional subscription line facility, a technology-focused sponsor on NAV-secured facilities ranging from $1 billion to $1.5 billion, and a private credit provider on a $175 million margin loan facilitating an acquisition of a cryptocurrency exchange.

“Reed Smith’s investment in its corporate and finance practice made this an ideal move,” said Elliott. “The firm’s exemplary work, client service, and collegial environment make it a top-tier destination. I’m also eager to be part of the Miami office’s corporate growth.”

Elliott is the second partner to join Reed Smith’s Miami corporate practice in recent months. He was previously a partner at McDermott Will & Schulte and Kirkland & Ellis. He earned his J.D. from the University of North Carolina School of Law and his B.A. from Florida State University. He is admitted to practice in Texas, Florida, and New York.
