HOUSTON – Global law firm Reed Smith has added Angeles Garcia Cassin as a partner in its Labor & Employment practice, further building the firm's employment litigation capabilities in one of the country's largest and most active legal markets.
Cassin is an experienced trial lawyer and employment litigator who defends companies against claims of executive compensation and severance, discrimination, retaliation, and unpaid wages, and represents employers in non-compete, trade secret misappropriation, and fiduciary duty disputes. Her practice spans high-stakes employment litigation and day-to-day workplace counseling, including compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, policy drafting, employment and severance agreements, and best practices for corrective actions and documentation.

Cassin has secured complete defense verdicts and case dismissals in discrimination, retaliation, and accommodation claims, defeated wage and hour class certifications, and first-chaired jury trials to defense verdicts in commercial disputes. She previously worked at the U.S. Department of Justice in the Immigrant and Employee Rights Section, experience she draws on when guiding employers through Form I-9 and E-Verify investigations. She is fluent in Spanish.

Cassin earned her J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center and her B.A. from Wellesley College.
