The round included investment from SC Ventures by Standard Chartered, Sony Innovation Fund, Polychain Capital, Blockchain Capital, and additional investors, bringing Yellow Card's total equity financing to more than $120 million. The transaction has closed.
Yellow Card has facilitated more than $10 billion in transactions across its network, supports more than 50 currencies, and holds licenses, authorizations, and registrations in 22 jurisdictions across North America, Europe, and Africa. Partnerships with Visa, Mastercard, PayPal, and Coinbase position the company as an infrastructure layer for global payments players.
The funding expands Yellow Card's stablecoin infrastructure, deepening its presence in Latin America and Asia Pacific and broadening the local payment rails and currency coverage needed to scale globally. A central focus of the capital raise is scaling Global USD Accounts, Yellow Card's dollar account product for businesses, which provides a single account to hold U.S. dollars, hold and swap stablecoins, manage treasury, and collect and disburse local currencies on domestic rails in more than 50 countries. The accounts run on infrastructure Yellow Card has operated for years and are already used by customers including major financial institutions.
The Reed Smith deal team was led by U.S. Emerging Companies & Venture Capital Group co-chair Nick Foreste and included Sarah Moy and Hana Omar.
