Christopher A. Mixon

Chris prioritizes collaboration, open communication, a practical approach to problem solving, and service to others. 

Before joining Reed Smith, Chris served as an associate, shareholder, assistant general counsel, and then as the first full-time general counsel of another major international law firm. Over the more than 15 years that he served in the firm’s Office of General Counsel, Chris built a team of service-oriented lawyers focused on providing practical guidance aligned with the firm’s strategic priorities. He also oversaw the administrative department responsible for business intake, conflicts, docketing, and information governance. During the same period, the firm more than doubled in size and revenue and expanded outside of the United States into Canada, Mexico, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany. Chris led the corporate and regulatory planning for that expansion.

Earlier in his career, Chris served as a law clerk, as an administrative law judge, and as the campaign manager for a successful statewide political campaign.
