Omar advises clients globally on structured trade and commodities finance and commercial lending, with more than 20 years of experience across a broad range of jurisdictions and asset classes. He regularly counsels clients on prepayment financings, borrowing base facilities, pre-export financings, receivables financing, inventory monetisations, and commodities repos, as well as related structures, including bilateral loans, letters of credit, participation arrangements, and the securitisation of receivables.

Advised a multinational commodities trading company on a prepayment facility for a DRC-based metals mining company and the related syndicated refinancing thereof
Advised a UAE-based trading company on a pre-export financing in respect of its copper trading business
