Joshua is a member of the firm’s Global Commercial Disputes Group. His practice includes representing commercial clients in complex litigation matters in state and federal court, and focuses on litigation and disputes in the financial services, entertainment, and oil and gas industries. His varied practice also includes representing clients in financial services litigation, consumer and contracts disputes, civil RICO actions, class actions, and mass and toxic torts. Joshua’s practice involves work in all stages of pre-trial and trial practice, including: pre-litigation investigations and negotiations; drafting dispositive, discovery and pre-trial briefs; managing document productions and discovery efforts; conducting and defending depositions; and preparing cases and witnesses for trial, arbitration and mediation.
Joshua’s practice has also included serving as a member of the Reed Smith team that acted as National Coordinating Counsel for a global energy company’s benzene litigation nationwide. His work in benzene litigation has covered upstream, midstream, downstream, and residential claims involving alleged exposures to aromatics (benzene, gasoline, diesel, among others).
Joshua also maintains a strong commitment to providing pro bono legal services. He has represented arts organizations in Philadelphia, as well as low-income taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service and U.S. Tax Court. In 2017, Joshua was the recipient of the Village Guardian Award, presented by The Village of Arts and Humanities’ Board and Leadership in appreciation for his outstanding commitment to envisioning and implementing the Village’s strategies for land preservation and social justice.
