Joseph focuses his practice on private investment fund formation and other corporate and securities matters related to private investment funds, collateralized loan obligations (CLOs) and other financial products. Joseph has wide-ranging experience representing investment managers in connection with the formation of private investment funds, including real estate funds, private equity funds, hedge funds and CLOs. He also advises foreign investment managers in connection with formation of private investment funds and feeders for U.S. investors, U.S. laws related to investment managers and other related U.S. legal matters that are relevant to their offering of investment funds to U.S. investors. Joseph also represents institutional investors in connection with their investments in private investment funds, including review of fund documents and negotiation of side letters. He also advises investment managers on investments by private investment funds in corporate loans, marketplace loans, Brazilian assets, structured products and other financial products (including hedge fund-linked notes, portable alpha trades, fund-linked derivatives, equity-linked notes and other structured notes).

Joseph lived in Brazil for nine years and speaks Portuguese.
