In response to the global needs of our clients, Reed Smith is pleased to announce the next installment of our 2008 "Doing Business Globally" teleseminar programs, a series of programs focusing on issues that businesses should understand about doing business in the global marketplace. The experience of the attorneys in our 23 offices in the United States, Europe, Asia and the Middle East positions us to assist in helping you to navigate the global landscape.
This teleseminar will focus on "Global Executive Compensation Programs." As companies expand their operations globally, they are faced with the unexpected challenges of offering consistent and effective compensation programs and benefits to their workforce. Companies have found a few approaches to be successful in attracting and retaining employees, and offering effective, globally sensitive compensation arrangements. One of the most common arrangements is to offer members of the global workforce compensation based on equity in the parent company. Other common approaches are to structure compensation for unique situations through executive compensation arrangements and expatriate agreements. This session will cover:
- Major issues that companies must address in the design, implementation, management, and maintenance of a global equity compensation program
- Global executive compensation arrangements
- Issues in drafting expatriate agreements and other considerations
