The presenters will take a critical look at English arbitral procedure and practice and the potential impact of future reforms following the English Law Commission’s recent proposals for reform of the Arbitration Act 1996.

The presenters will also discuss English style arbitrations, including pleading-based written submissions, the timing and content of fact, expert and documentary evidence, preparation for and advocacy at the hearing, closing submissions, and the drafting of awards. The aim is to encourage lively debate and to examine the question, “is English style arbitration fit for purpose in 2022?”.
