A little history on The Historic Klamath...

Now docked at Pier 9, The Klamath used to serve as a transportation lifeblood during the first half of the 20th century, transporting automobiles and passengers between all major cities in the Bay Area. The Klamath, along with the changing times, was retired from service in the 1950's after the completion of the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge.

From 1964 to 1987, The Klamath became a key destination for visiting celebrities and dignitaries. Famous for its parties, the Klamath attracted the likes of Marshall McLuhan, George C. Scott, Andy Warhol, and the Grateful Dead.

After 30 years in Stockton, the Klamath returned to the Bay in October 2021 - newly renovated and refitted. The Klamath with breath-taking views of the San Francisco waterfront and the bridge that ended her career as a ferry enters a new chapter as the Bay Area Council's headquarters at Pier 9.
