(March 12, 2007, Chicago) – Reed Smith announced today that Annette B. Hurley has re-joined the firm as a partner, effective immediately. She will become a partner at Reed Smith Sachnoff & Weaver in Chicago. Reed Smith is one of the world’s 15 largest law firms with more than 1500 attorneys in 21 offices worldwide.

Ms. Hurley left Sachnoff & Weaver in late 2006 to pursue a business opportunity.  She will concentrate her legal practice on estate and gift planning, business and tax planning, and trust and estate administration. Reed Smith’s trusts and estates practice is focused on estate and business planning, administration of trusts and estates, charitable foundations and non-profits, fiduciary investment consideration and trusts and estates litigation.

“We are delighted that Annette will be a part of our Chicago office again,” said Michael LoVallo, Reed Smith Sachnoff & Weaver’s Chicago Office Managing Partner.  “She is an outstanding lawyer who has excellent relationships with and the confidence of many of our key clients.”

Before joining Sachnoff & Weaver in 2001, Ms. Hurley earned a J.D. from Notre Dame in 1995, and her LL.M. in taxation from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2000.  She is a 1992 baccalaureate graduate from Loyola University of Chicago.

“I am truly gratified to be able to rejoin my colleagues as part of one of the world’s fastest-growing law firms,” Ms. Hurley said.  “It is exciting to return to practicing law in a firm with enhanced resources that spans three continents serving a wide range of diverse clients. These resources will be invaluable to our increasingly mobile private clients.”

Ms. Hurley writes and presents regularly on topics such as succession planning, trusts and related matters.  She is a member of the Chicago Estate Planning Council.
