Denise Jong is the second partner to hold the position which was newly created in August 2016 alongside two further positions - Managing Partner, Americas and Managing Partner, Europe and Middle East - in a move to provide greater focus on geographic responsibilities.
Based in the firm’s Hong Kong office, Denise trained with the firm in London as a trainee and became a partner in 1998. She was admitted to the English bar in 1993 and Hong Kong bar in 1994. Her career has been devoted to advising on corporate transactions and investments in Greater China and South East Asia. She served as a board member on the firm’s Executive Committee from 2008 until 2015, and presently serves as a Co-Chair for the Global Corporate practice. Denise will continue to service clients alongside her new management role.
Prior to serving as the Asia-Pacific Managing Partner, Roger was the Managing Partner for Europe, Middle East and Asia from 2007 until August 2016. During his leadership tenure, Roger guided the firm through a period of extraordinary growth and transformation including the merger of Reed Smith and Richards Butler in 2007; office openings in Shanghai, Singapore and Astana in 2012, and Frankfurt in 2015; and most recently Reed Smith’s alliance with Singaporean firm Resource Law in 2016.
