PARIS – Marianne Schaffner is one of a small number of lawyers in France appearing in the IAM Global Leaders guide’s 2023 edition, Reed Smith announced today. This marks Schaffner as a lawyer who is among the very best at handling today’s most pressing patent issues in the world’s most significant patent jurisdictions.

Schaffner leads Reed Smith’s intellectual property (IP) team in Paris and its patent practice in Europe. A well-known IP litigation lawyer, she is recognized for coordinating and managing complex national and transnational patent, trade secrets and trademark disputes in the health care, chemistry, technology and telecommunications sectors.

Prior to this development, Schaffner was featured in another IAM list – the IAM Patent 1000, released July 2022, as were other Reed Smith patent lawyers in the U.S., UK and in Europe. See this news release.

Individuals mentioned in the IAM Global Leaders list must have ranked in the gold tier of the IAM Patent 1000. In addition, they must have not only ”expertise and experience” related to “creating, protecting, managing, transacting and enforcing critical patent rights,” but also the ability to “innovate, inspire and deliver value” for their clients, the guide states. The updated guide was made public today.
