The tournament is run by British Wheelchair Basketball and a selection of international players set to join the event on the day to offer their support and to show their skills.
International wheelchair basketball stars will be taking part, alongside athletes from other sports, including Shona McCallin (Olympic, World and Commonwealth Gold medallist in Hockey), Keri-anne Payne (Olympic medallist and double World Champion 10k swimmer), Clare Cunningham (Paralympic Gold Medallist for Para Triathlon) and Christine Ohuruogu (Olympic and World Gold Medallist for Athletics). Soprano singer and SportsAid ambassador, Laura Wright, will also be taking part.
Seventeen different teams are due to compete at the event. Among them are two Reed Smith teams that will be captained by Olympians Keri-anne Payne and Shanice Beckford-Norton.
The London office of Reed Smith is continuing its partnership with SportsAid, a UK charity that supports talented young athletes to achieve their ambitions in sport and life. Last year the firm began sponsoring and supporting 10 talented athletes and para-athletes to help them achieve their sporting ambitions.
SportsAid is a national UK charity that helps young British sportsmen and women aspiring to be the country's next Olympic, Paralympic, Commonwealth and world champions. SportsAid supports over 1,000 athletes each year, most of whom are aged 12 to 18.
